DAY 16: JACOB’S PARADIGM

By the virtue of my office as a Pastor, I name children. I have lost count of the numbers of children I have named. But this morning it occurred to be that I have not named any one Jacob. I know people who bear that name anyway, but I have not given that to anyone. So I concluded, that parents avoid that name because a generation now know that Jacob means a supplanter, cheat and fraudster. However, if you know any person that gave that name to his child of recent, kindly help me find out what the father was thinking.

Unfortunately, we focus on the negatives aspect of Jacobs’s life. Do you know that there are many good aspect of the first bearer of that name, one of such is Jacob’s paradigm. In most cases our good traits are obliterated and dwarfed by seemingly inappropriate nature. So don’t be affected by the “Jacobiant’ nature but be influenced by ‘Jacob’s paradigm.’

Jacob’s paradigm is a way of thinking, looking at things and achieving result. Look at what he did that impressed me. Isaac, told Easu to go get venison and prepared it in such a way that he loved so that his soul would bless him before he died. That guy ran back to the wild, and started chasing after antelopes and rats until he was tired and won out only to come back home with one. Jacob on the other hand went to the back of the house to take one out of the animals he was breeding, prepared it, gave to the father and got the blessing before Esua came. What I want to bring to your attention here is that one will have to go to the forest always to get animals, while the other get what he needs from the backyard.

The traditional way of getting animal is to hunt, the creative was of getting it is to breed. The breeder will always have more animals and more money that the hunter.

Switch Paradigm! You will have to rethink how you do what you are doing. It’s not just about result, are your results enough, enduring and repeatable? Can you result be upscale? The world has moved past some of our approaches. The kind of thinking and knowledge that brought you to your current level of success and achievement must be updated and upgraded because it might not be sufficient to take you to the next level. Jacob was the foremost pioneer of the idea of working remotely and diversifying personal economy. The guy worked from home and bought the future.

It’s dangerous to be thinking like Esua when you are competing with Jacobs.

Today, Rethink your approach to life, business and Church

Remember It is not enough to have result, your result must be predictable, sufficient, enduring and repeatable.
